Round 1

You liked what you saw and got what you wanted
Left shortly after, but my mind you still haunted
I cowered to your coercion, then built up such a strong aversion
That I prayed to never see you again, in case I tried to kill you then
All the memories I almost forgot –
The memories I fought so hard to never remember
Now chase me like a ravenous dog smelling fear
I tried so hard to erase you and I finally did
But you found the canister of my memories and removed the lid
I never expected to remember all that past,
But I did when you found me at last
To bruise my heart again, I surrender already and let you win
Falling into pieces wanting you to call
While thinking to myself about how quickly I fall
Forgetting how you hurt me before
I’m coming back into the ring for more
You finally call to begin round two and I give up all to see you
Convincing myself that the words you said –you meant
Thinking this time will be different
Opening your apartment door- your lust you flaunted
You liked what you saw and got what you wanted . . .
